New glass shop is adding more than 100,000 jobs to its operations, the company announced Wednesday.
The Glass Glass & Metal Group, which has offices in Washington and New York City, is expanding its operations to bring in more than 20,000 new workers, including 20 new managers.
Glass Glass &ammtmtg will open its new glass shop in the New York borough of Manhattan’s Battery Park neighborhood, where it will operate in a retail and wholesale space, said David W. Miller, the group’s president and CEO.
The company has already expanded its footprint to New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware and New Hampshire.
The Glass Glass&Metal Group employs about 4,500 people and is located in Brooklyn, New York, said Miller, who is also chairman and CEO of MillerCoors.
The company plans to open a new office in Brooklyn to support expansion, said Scott St. John, an associate vice president at the Glass Glass Group.
The group will continue to expand its retail and warehousing business, which includes warehousing, furniture and fixtures, and the glass business, he said.
The group has expanded its glass business by adding about 15,000 glass jobs since its initial hiring last year, he added.
The new Glass GlassMmtg employs about 2,400 people, including about 10,000 workers in New York and New Jersey.
The New York-based company is based in Manhattan, according to its website.
The glass company said it has about 3,600 employees worldwide, with more than 5,000 in New England.
